History of the school
Heyes Lane Infant School was opened in July 1951. At a cost to the Local Education Authority of £57,380!
The site that the school stands on had originally been a market garden where Timperley early rhubarb was first cultivated. It is now sold world wide!
There have been 5 head teachers at Heyes Lane Infant School since it opened, Miss Doolan being the first and myself being the current.
The school has seen a great deal of change in its 54-year history both in the staff who teach in it and the space that they have to teach in.
In 1993 the school was enhanced with a Nursery building and in 2001 We were lucky enough to secure funding to create Trafford’s first purpose built Early Years Unit.
We pride ourselves on being a school that is forward thinking and creative both in what we teach and how we teach it. We have seen the school go from strength to strength and we strive to maintain that momentum whilst having lots of fun!
